What is False Vintage?
False vintage is anything sold as vintage that isn't what it claims to be: a reprint passed off as an original, a new shirt sanded and bleached to look thirty years old, or an ordinary old piece priced like a rarity because the word "vintage" is on the listing. False Vintage is a shop built to be the opposite: every piece marketed at its real age, checked by hand, and priced honestly.

Don't buy false vintage, come to me for true vintage
That's the line, and here is what it means in practice. Not everything old is valuable, and not everything valuable is old. A lot of what gets sold as "vintage" online is either a recent reprint, a piece that was never special, or a description written to sound older than the tag says. Buyers pay vintage prices for it because they can't check.
Here you can check. Every listing shows the evidence: the tag, the RN number, the country of origin, the stitching, the print, the flaws. When a piece is a reissue, it says reissue. When the evidence only narrows it to a range, the listing gives the range. When something can't be dated honestly, it doesn't get called vintage.
True is what it's worth to you
The "true" in true vintage isn't a price tag. A faded tour tee from a band you saw at seventeen can be worth more to you than a rare designer piece is to someone else. Value is in the eye of the beholder. The shop's job is to tell you exactly what a piece is, so the only question left is whether it's worth it to you.
How every piece is checked
- Identified. Brand, model, and era from the tags, RN or CA numbers, union labels, maker marks and construction. Designer pieces get a full authentication check before they're listed; fakes are never sold, disclosed or not.
- Measured. Laid flat and measured by hand: pit to pit, length, waist, inseam, sleeve. The size shown comes from the tape measure, not the tag.
- Graded. Every hole, stain, repair, fade or crack gets written down and photographed.
- Priced. Against what the same piece has actually sold for, not what hopeful listings are asking.
Who's behind it
False Vintage is one person in South Florida: Javier. Sourcing from thrift stores, estate sales, storage units and collections, then photographing, measuring and shipping every order himself. If you have a question about a piece, you're asking the person who held it.
The shop also sells on eBay, Depop, Grailed and Whatnot, but this site is home: fewer middlemen, so prices here are lower than on the marketplaces.
